Under the Housing Act of 2004, anyone selling a domestic property in England and Wales must now supply a Home Information Pack (HIP) when they market the property. This must contain an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) and can also include a Home Condition Report (HCR). There are also requirements for EPCs on rented properties.
Estate agents, Solicitors, Home Information Pack providers, Landlords, Letting Agents and Housing Associations are all affected by these changes and will need to request an energy assessment or home inspection for a property.
